7th Annual Greenbrier Challenge

Join Challenged Athletes of West Virginia, The Riverview Golf Range, The First Tee of West Virginia, The Citizens Conservation Corp of WV, and Free Spirit Adventures for the 7th Annual Greenbrier Challenge. This year we are moving to a new location and adding new activities and options to make your day in the outdoors more fun while supporting West Virginia’s premier outdoor sports program for children and adults with disabilities. Learn more about The First Tee of West Virginia and their golf programs and opportunities for youth and adults. Bike, run, walk, golf and have a great day in beautiful Greenbrier County while promoting fitness and opportunities for the disabled community and local youth. Make a weekend out of it and enjoy the entertainment and events of First Friday in historic Lewisburg. First Fridays after 5 takes place all year long in downtown Lewisburg with shops, galleries and restaurants in downtown Lewisburg open until 9 PM serving complimentary refreshments and entertainment. First Fridays after Five: You’ll find the lights on and the town alive!

Numerous lodging and Recreation opportunities are available near event headquarters at Caldwell. Camping and cabins are available at Seneca State Forest and numerous B&B, camping, and other lodging opportunities abound in the area; for complete information about the Greenbrier Valley go to www.greenbrierwv.com.

Event Options

(All bicycle, run/walk events staged on The Greenbrier River Trail)

  • 38 mile supported ride (shuttles, rest stops) Anthony to Renick, turnaround to Caldwell
  • 25 mile supported ride, Renick to Caldwell
  • 11 mile supported ride Anthony to Caldwell
  • Trigolfathon option 1, (a new word for a fun event) 11 mile bike ride, driving range skills contest, and putting prowess test.
  • Trigolfathon option 2, 25 mile bike ride, driving range skills contest, and putting prowess test.
  • Trigolfathon option 3, 5k run/walk, driving range skills contest, and putting prowess test.
  • 5k run/walk
  • Ride and fish, bring your bicycle, rod, and tackle. Choose the shuttle length you prefer and leisurely ride and fish your way back to event headquarters and share your fish stories. Bicycle rod holders provided.
  • Golf Only: Hit a bucket(s) of balls and putt for disabled children and adults served by Challenged Athletes of West Virginia
  • Kid’s golf clinic: visit with representatives of The First Tee of WV; learn about their programs, and introduce a youngster to a lifetime sport

 

Registration Fees

Greenbrier Challenge registration fees include event T-shirt, shuttle service, rest stops, lunch, and golfing equipment, (clubs, balls)

  • Bicycle only: $45.00
  • Trigolfathon: $50.00
  • 5k walk/run: $35.00
  • Ride and fish: $45.00
  • Golf Only: $25.00
  • Kids Golf Clinic: Free
  • Family Team: $50 for each adult, children, $10 each.

Additional donations are welcomed.

  • Shuttles leave at 9:15 AM for Renick. 10:30 AM for Anthony.
  • 5K Walk / Run 10:30 AM
  • Golf Clinic at 1:00 PM
  • Golf Only: 9:00AM -5:00 PM
  • First Tee representatives on site 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Lunch from noon – 4:00 PM
Shuttles leave soon after the event so don't be late!

Day 1     Sponsor yourself for $50
Day 2    Ask two family members to sponsor you for $50..
Day 3    Ask 10 friends to contribute $20.
Day 4    Ask five co-workers to contribute $20.
Day 5    Ask five neighbors to contribute $20.
Day 6    Ask 10 people from your church to contribute $10.
Day 7    Get a $50 contribution from your company, or get them to match what you raise.
Day 8    Ask five businesses that you deal with at work to sponsor your for $10.
Day 9    Ask four businesses you frequent to personally contribute $25.
